How To Earn Passive Income Using
Automated Email Sequences
How would you like to grow your income on autopilot? Imagine the feeling of waking up in the morning and checking your PayPal account and seeing that you’re making money while you sleep. That is the reality for many people that have passive income online business focused on e-commerce. The business owners that earn that type of income use systems and one of the main systems they use are Automated Email Sequences.
First of all, let’s define what an email sequence is for those that are new to online businesses and how they make passive income. An automated email sequence is a series of emails that go out automatically without any manual interference from you as the business owner. The sequence is started with something called a “trigger”. The trigger could be when a person clicks a link on your landing page and signs up for your free lead magnet. Instead of you having to check your email to see who requested your “free download” each day, your systems sees their request as a “trigger” to begin an automated series of emails.
In this case, you’d likely be sending a “Welcome Email Sequence”. This would begin with an email that first thanks the person for requesting your free download and which contains a link in it for them to access the download (which may be stored in your Dropbox account or as a doc on your Google Drive). That is the first email of your email sequence. Then you set up your system to automatically send another email to the new sign up within the next 24 hours. Maybe this one is a “Get To Know Us” email where you give them some information about your company and brand. Then invite them to give you some feedback on the information you sent them or ask them to tell you something about them. The next email could be another freebie (not a coupon or anything – your subscriber is still getting to know you). Offer a free tip or another free download that solves a problem the subscriber may be having.
Your next email that get sent out could be another value-added email. Remember that the goal of this Welcome Email Sequence is to establish trust by getting the subscriber the opportunity to get to know you and like you. In some cases, you may need to establish competence with the subscriber by giving them free content that they can actually use today. Once the new subscriber starts to know, like, and trust you, you can transition to your Sales Funnel Sequence when you prime your new subscriber up for making a purchase.
Your Sales Funnel Sequence could be a series of emails sent over a 5-12 day period and spaced out to be sent every other day when you inform the subscriber of your offer (a paid for product or service). Usually this sequence starts with an email saying you have an announcement or something big about to happen. The next email you tell the the big announcement (you are releasing a new course that will give the a specific outcome or result). The next email tells them the specifics of the big announcement or offer (when, where, how much, how long, etc). The next sequence of emails are all to support the notion of why the subscriber should and must take advantage of this offer (limited time, money back guarantee, promised results, bonus offers, frequently asked questions about the offer, etc). Then the final emails are to remind the person that the offer window is closing in 24 hours, in 12 hours, in 6 hours, and in 1 hours). These final emails are to create a final sense of urgency and to get the subscriber to purchase your offer.
